short course on using dynamical systems theory to understand climate variability and extremes (Uppsala University)

Between the 4-5th of October, Davide Faranda (one of the PIs from CNRS) was a guest lecturer at Uppsala University for a two-days course focusing on applying tools from dynamical systems theory to climate datasets. The course looked into how we the persistence of a given atmospheric configuration, its “complexity” – or active number of degrees of freedom can be defined – and more.
